Ancelotti to replace Guardiola at Bayern at season end

Guardiola’s contract as head coach expires in June and the club say an announcement on the 44-year-old’s future plans will be made Sunday when the German league begins the month-long winter break.
Daily newspaper Bild insist Guardiola will leave in May and claim Bayern has already made a verbal agreement for Carlo Ancelotti to take over.

According to The Guardian, Carlo Ancelotti has agreed a contract in principle – for three years- with Bayern to replace Guardiola at the end of the season.

Ancelotti has been on a sabbatical since leaving Real Madrid in the summer, taking time out to recharge his batteries after two successful seasons in Spain.

He added that Guardiola had experience of working in other leagues, adding that he would definitely look forward to join City.

MUNICH (AP) – Pep Guardiola still has the chance to end his stay in Bayern Munich with the title he was brought in for: the Champions League.

Like Guardiola, the Italian has won a record three UEFA Super Cups and is now looking forward to pursuing more trophies with Bayern.

Guardiola’s position at the Allianz Arena will be taken by Carlo Ancelotti, who has signed a three-year-deal.

Ancelotti has won the European Champions League three times, twice with AC Milan and once at Real Madrid, and guided Chelsea to the Premier League title and FA Cup in 2010.

Pellegrini, who won the Premier League and Capital One Cup with City in 2014, said he understood that speculation is always present among the world’s largest clubs.

“They are important games but we are just in the first round (of fixtures)”.

City have been touted as Guardiola’s most likely destination, with former Barcelona directors Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain pulling the strings at the Etihad Stadium, though Chelsea and Manchester United remain rumoured potential options. I don’t know if it will be next season here at City, or even at another club, but I am sure that one day he will come to the Premier League.

According to the Daily Star, Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has demanded that his next side snap up £100m-rated Barcelona star Luis Suarez.

VfL Wolfsburg, who reached the knockout stage of the Champions League earlier this month, suffered a disappointing end to 2016 in the Bundesliga, losing 3-1 at 10-man VfB Stuttgart to stretch their winless run to four league matches.

Europa League contenders Augsburg confirmed their improving form with a 1-0 win over Hamburg SV, their third straight victory and fourth in their last five matches, to move up to 12th spot on 19 points.
