Pep Guardiola could be poised to manage in the Premier League next season after Bayern Munich announced on Sunday he would stand down as their head coach at the end of the current campaign.

Rummenigge told Bild: “We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season”.
The squad, already a dominant force in the Bundesliga having won the treble in 2013 of Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup, soon became nearly unbeatable at home.
Ancelotti delivered Madrid’s coveted 10th Champions League title in 2014 – beating Guardiola’s Bayern en route to the final – but the following season produced no trophies and he left in May.
“With Ancelotti, we have a new successful trainer for Bayern”.
In the same statement, Ancelotti said “it’s an honor for me to be a part of this great club next season”.
Bayern Chief Executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the much-anticipated change in manager on Sunday, saying the deal with Ancelotti has been completed.
Barcelona won 76.32 per cent of Spanish league fixtures under Guardiola, claiming the Liga title in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and only Ancelotti’s reign at Real Madrid, during which he achieved a win ratio of 75 per cent, comes anywhere close to matching the Spaniard. The former Barcelona coach has won two league titles and the German Cup since joining Bayern in summer 2013. With Van Gaal under growing pressure the Old Trafford board may prefer to move sooner rather than wait until the end of the season, where they could potentially miss out on Champions League qualification again.
“We’ve had plenty of contact during our careers, with AC Milan and Barcelona respectively, plus UEFA events, and we get on really well”. Phillip Lahm, a defender, surprised many with his fine performances in midfield.
