Andre Ellington a game-time decision; Chris Johnson remains starter at RB
Chris Johnson, one of the team’s offseason acquisitions, got off to a slow start in the first two games of the season, but exploded for 110 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers. Ted Larsen will move to the bench.

The Arizona Cardinals will be trying to increase their lead in the NFC West when they host the St. Louis Rams at The University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday, October 4. It will be a game-day decision.
“They’re the most talented defense in the league, I believe”, the Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald said. “I’m going to be smart about it”. “I’ll see how I feel”. Right tackle Bobby Massie returned from suspension last week.
Guard Jonathan Cooper reiterated that the team has been strongly focused on the run game so they can open up the play-action pass for Palmer.
Chances are they’ll still utilize David Johnson heavily in the return game but more sparingly out of the backfield as they try to get Ellington enough work to get back into the flow of the offense. “You hate to be on the sideline”. It’s one of those things to be excited about.
Iupati shrugged off the idea he will be rusty.
“I’m ready”, he declared Friday.
After two weeks off, it’s not surprising that Ellington would come in off the bench. But it is what it is.
But Ellington said he is confident in his cuts as well as his readiness to play. St. Louis might not solve the Cardinals’ five-defensive back base defense without better play from the offensive line and more fireworks from QB Nick Foles, who threw for 411 yards against Arizona last season while playing for the Eagles.

Ellington said he was “pretty close” to being where he needs to be, and needs to feel like himself on Sunday before green-lighting himself. For now, however, it appears that the only person’s workload who won’t be impacted is Chris Johnson’s.
