Andrews Stalker Testifies How He Did It
Sportscaster Erin Andrews soon will find out whether she is to be compensated by a Nashville hotel for the pain she’s endured since she was filmed naked in 2008 through a peephole by stalker Michael David Barrett. She was forced to seek help in dealing with the trauma and now has an elaborate strategy for checking out hotels she stays in. In a video deposition played before the jury, Barrett said he altered hotel room peepholes in such a way so that he could pull them out and use his cellphone camera to shoot video through the open hole.

Closing arguments are set to being in Andrews’ civil case Friday.
Dedman pushed off blame, mostly onto the stalker, who he said is ultimately to blame for what happened, but also onto Marriott International, which handled the reservation of Barrett’s room.
Closing arguments concluded on Friday evening and Judge Hamilton Gayden said he would allow jurors to rest before returning on Monday for deliberations.
This incident will also deter young women from pursing a career in sports, she said. “This is a very unfortunate situation that should not be a reflection on West End Hotel Partners or to our commitment to the issues in this case surrounding what happened to her. I sincerely apologize for my participation in what happened”. We concede that Ms. Andrews is a victim of a disgusting crime by Barrett….
Still not knowing what Andrews’ room number was, Barrett picked up a house phone and asked to speak to Andrews.
Barrett says he then went to the front desk to check in, asking specifically to have Room XX, which he had determined was next to Andrews’ room.
The most generous description one could put on their line of questioning is, in the words of an ABC News legal analyst, “How much is it worth and who should pay it?”

For the first time in the trial, Broillet suggested that Barrett made up the story the jurors heard in order to retaliate for Andrews pursuing criminal charges against him.
