So, if you have nothing to worry about flashing your OnePlus X with the new Android Marshmallow build, you can get it from the official OnePlus forum, which also includes the full release notes.

Keep in mind that this truly isn’t a final build, so you’ll no doubt run into a plethora of bugs and possibly even some performance issues on the community build. While this isn’t the final version of the highly-anticipated upgrade, at least it puts the OnePlus X one step closer to getting Android M. Along with the Oxygen 3.1.0 community preview announcement, OnePlus also unveiled some of the most important changes the smartphone will receive.

Despite announcing that the OnePlus X series wouldn’t be continuing, the company is still supporting and upgrading the X series.

In addition, the Settings menu gets new app permissions along with additional Alert Slider settings to allow more customization options.

The launcher has been updated with a new icon pack, the Google Search bar sees some improvements and there are new apps in the form of the OnePlus Gallery and OnePlus Music Player.

If you’re unfamiliar, OnePlus tends to release Community Builds of an update before the OTAs begin to roll out. For instance, there are issues with mobile network stability in some regions. OnePlus has listed a few that it knows of and is encouraging users to report any other issues they might come across. According to OnePlus, those who wish to flash the new OxygenOS 3.1.0 update on their smartphones will have to do a factory reset if using any other recovery or coming from any other ROM.
