Android 7.0 Nougat Now Out of Beta Released Today
Over the next few weeks Android 7.0 Nougat will be available via an over-the-air software update for the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One.

Google has started rolling out the latest version of Android, Android 7.0, also known as Nougat, to a small selection of Nexus devices. The new Android Nougat will flaunt features like multi-window support, direct reply notification, Doze mode 2.0 – an upgrade feature to Marshmallow, new quick settings menu, pressure sensitive display technology and 72 new emojis.
Nougat introduces new features into Android, including redesigned notification interaction services and support for search results in multiple languages within applications. “The New LG V20: The first new smartphone that comes with Android Nougat, right out of the box. There are over 250 major features in Android Nougat”, said Sameer Samat, VP of Product Management, Android & Google Play. This means that users no longer need to restart their phones every time they receive an update on their Nexus devices.
Hopefully, other smartphone makers will follow soon and we will see the new Android 7.0 OS on plenty of other devices soon. As with most updates, though, keep in mind that this rollout will be staggered, so it could take some time for Android 7.0 to make its way to your neck of the woods. There’s also no confirmation of whether the phone will land on Three, but it’s likely to and with a launch in early September it will probably arrive before nearly any phone gets the Nougat update.
The following devices are also expected to get the update, though the exact timeline is not clear: HTC 10, HTC One A9, HTC One M9 and Sony Xperia Z3.
There’s also going to be a “recent apps” button, where you’ll be able to switch between your two most recently-used apps with a double-tap.
