For HTC 10 owners, they can expect the update to arrive within the fourth quarter, while owners of the other two devices should wait a little longer since the Nougat update will hit their handsets once the one for the HTC 10 is out, as per Phone Arena.

Sony announced this news about Android Nougat update on its official mobile blog. Released last September 2014, The Verge points out that it doesn’t make sense for the Xperia Z3 not to get the Android N update when the iPhone 5, released in 2012, is getting the latest iOS 10. However, none of them are on Three and older Nexus devices like the Nexus 7 (2013), which was once sold on Three, won’t be in line for the update. With the help of the new Instant Apps feature, users can immediately start testing an app by opening its store page. Google also announced that it will be releasing quarterly maintenance updates, similar to developer previews when Android N was in beta.
It must be noted that the first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box will be the LG V20. Once that’s installed you may see a notification to update to the official public stable release of Nougat. It has Project Svelte, that stops the application from waking every time a gadget’s connection condition changes.
Android Nougat brings plenty of new features to the operating system, including heightened security and graphical enhancements thanks to the new Vulkan API.

The Android N will also have support for VulkanTM and Daydream. Now companies like Samsung and others don’t have to make their personal virtual reality system and the makers can now make one virtual reality application that will work on all Android gadgets. The upgrades will be downloaded from the Wi-Fi and they will be saved as a different image on the gadget’s memory. Note: The device’s data won’t be wiped off while upgrading.
