Android 7.0 Nougat rolling out to Android One phones
Google has started to release the Android Nougat software update for its Android One devices and owners of Android One handsets are reporting that they have started to receive the update.

Android One phones now become the second wave of devices after the Nexus range who receive the new Android OS upgrades. After the Nexus smartphones get Android Nougat, next in line would be the Android One smartphones and devices.
Google advised via an Android Security Bulletin that “we have had no reports of active customer exploitation or abuse of these newly reported issues” and encouraged all customers to install the update as soon as possible. It is not yet certain though if this might be true this year, though what seems to be certain is that Android One devices would be the next to get Android 7.0. This leaves us with just one other possibility, Verizon might start rolling out the September security patch to Nexus 6 devices.
Android Nougat’s predecessors would encrypt phones using a full-disk encryption, thus encrypting the phone as a whole. Last month, smartphone maker Sony also confirmed that it will be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for selected Xperia devices. Unlike Android Marshmallow, where your phone had to be physically at rest for the feature to work.

In addition, Android Nougat offers a new way of multi-tasking with the Split-screen feature. They only run if you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network, saving your monthly data charges. Just think of this update that breathes life into Android smartphones.
