Android 7.0 Nougat to Receive Quarterly Maintenance Updates
Battery life is now more efficient thanks to improvements to the doze feature, which automatically uses less power when the device detects it is in a bag or pocket and multiple languages are supported in search results.

Nougat also includes the ability for apps to bundle notifications, reducing clutter on the lock screen or in the notification shade. Then the user can open another app on the secondary window.
There are rumors claiming that the “Bundled Notifications” is included to allow the user to consolidate the notifications in the same app.
The Nougat is, of course, built with powerful layers of security and encryption to keep data private and secure.
The over-the-air (OTA) update brings the devices from the Android Marshmallow to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
For the last few weeks, LG has been bragging about how the LG V20 will be the first non-Nexus smartphone to arrive with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
The new OS can better isolate and protect files for individual users on a device.
This certainly appears to be the fastest way to push the update to your device. It remains to be seen if the next developer preview will be made available in the form of flashable images or if Google will provide OTAs, like it did in the Android N beta.
Manufacturers including Sony, HTC, Samsung and Huawei all use Android as their smartphone software, though Google has not yet confirmed when Nougat will be widely available on these devices.
The company usually releases new versions of Android alongside the launch of new Nexus hardware, but it’s done things a little differently this year.
Google doesn’t typically allow developers to access the beta version of its new Android software so far ahead of its release. The new app, announced in May, is being released Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, as a free service for phones running on Google’s Android operating system as well as Apple’s iPhones.
Nougat also addresses work related issues.
Multi-window, or side-by-side split screen support, is the other big new functional addition.
