Android 7.0 Nougat update on Sony Xperia devices
It seems Xperia XZ and X Compact will be two new smartphones from Sony at IFA.

As for the Xperia XZ (some reports call it Xperia XR), the tech giant is looking at another flagship that packs a Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM. Till now, the company has launched quite a number of handsets in its new series which range from the mid-ranger Xperia XA to the flagship Xperia X Performance. One of the handsets, the Xperia X Compact, has been recently spotted on GFXBench, and some of its specs have been revealed. In the meanwhile, tipster Evan Blass has shared an image of what he claims to be the Sony Xperia X Compact. The display is 4.7 inches with Full HD resolution, which happens to be the same resolution as the Xperia X Performance.
More news about the Android Nougat OS update and when it may be released for other devices should be made available in the near future. Along with the render, specifications of the upcoming smartphone have also leaked online, courtesy of Dutch website Techtastic.
According to the leak the Xperia XZ will have a 23MP sensor, just like the Xperia X. It’ll also apparently have a dual-LED flash and a laser autofocus. This way, Sony can accurately address the needs of consumers who look for powerful and fast smartphones, but with a comfortable-sized display. The names of the devices are Xperia XZ and X Compact.
Sony Xperia X Compact and Sony Xperia XZ are expected to make their formal debut on September 1. The rear camera can also record videos of 4K quality.
Sony seems to be sticking to its six month release cycle or at least the new leak seems to point in that direction. To date, it has been implemented on many mobile devices as a substitute to Type B, as it also allows bi-directional power, allowing the connector to charge the hosting gadget.

As far as the Xperia X Compact is concerned, rumors doing rounds hint that it features a 4.6 inch screen and is powered by 2700mAh battery.
