Unlike the competing tablet models for the Jolla tablet though, the device is not powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system. Today, the company has announced that it is available for pre-order in limited quantities and will ship to European Union, Norway, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Australia, India, Hong Kong and Russian Federation for €267. The WiFi-only tablet is loaded with 2GB of DDR3L-RS RAM and 32GB or 64GB of eMMC flash, expandable with a microSD slot.

If you are interested in buying it, head to the link above to get started and to find the relevant price in your country – the Jolla tablet shipping date has been revised to ‘End of October’. There’s no Google Play Services included, but it’s always good to try new things. The tablet’s software is derived from MeeGo, the platform that was briefly used by Nokia for its N9 smartphone.
Jolla Tablet first hit Indiegogo for crowdsource funding back in November. As mentioned, this does run on Sailfish OS, but you will be able to run all your Android apps as well. Jolla Tablet can be pre-ordered directly from the Jolla Online Shop.
In terms of specifications, the tablet features a 7.85-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. The connectivity options bundled with the device are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and A-GPS/ Global Positioning System .

The tablet was developed for both minimalist and stylish, and according to Jolla, the device will provide users with a superb and previously unseen experience. The version of Sailfish on the Jolla Tablet also brings a bunch of personalization features. In addition, Sailfish OS also offers multi-tasking, gesture-based user interface, and fast interaction. The price will change depending on where the customer is located though.
