Other user interface refinements are also expected in the operating system and Google could push to further refine the Android experience.

As TrustedReviews points out, in Google’s promotional video for Google Maps, we are greeted with a new Android home screen but something is curiously missing- the app drawer button.

Normally seated on the home screen launcher, the app drawer when tapped brings up library of application installed on a device.

Droid-Life doesn’t provide the exact quote, but the way that is worded suggests that Google doesn’t want to confirm the app drawer won’t disappear.

We should get a better idea of Google’s plans for Android N during its keynote event scheduled for May 18-20. Since the screenshots were not allowed to be reposted, there were a few mockups which roughly describe the alleged changes in for Android. According to the shared mock-up screenshots claimed to be from Android N, Google’s next Android OS version will have more than just cosmetic changes. In the list, every item likewise incorporates a line with the app that delivered the notification.

The screenshot showing notifications tab shows more details while quick settings panel will add an edit tab.

We’re still months away from the actual release of Android N, but we are hoping to get a first glimpse of the new platform at this year’s Google I/O conference scheduled for mid-May.

On an aesthetic level the shade of the panel itself will be changed, but on a more functional level settings access is also upgrading. Above the notifications, there now lies a bar of Quick Settings toggles for the most common Quick Settings, such as Wi-Fi and Do Not Disturb. This feature is not part of Android Marshmallow, so it clearly indicates that Google is working on something innovative in its upcoming operating system.
