The 7.0 version of Android, called Nougat, is available from Monday on Nexus devices. HTC was the first one to announce the list of devices for Nougat update, right after the announcement of Android 7.0.
Among the new features it brings, there’s the rather exciting Google Daydream – Google’s answer to VR tech, and the successor to Google Cardboard.
After more than 5 months in beta, Google has officially rolled out the latest version of the Android mobile operating system – Android 7.0 Nougat.
Another new feature to Nexus phones that comes with Android 7.0 Nougat, is that notifications are now grouped together. This is a bit of a cheat, as it’s actually set to launch with Android Nougat, so it won’t need updating. Multi-Window allows users to perform a split-screen function and have two applications visible at once. Few have mentioned specific devices that will certainly be getting it, and of course, a carrier-branded device will also slow these updates event further. The company will start to deliver the latest operating system to Nexus devices first.
Good news Nexus users – you will be the first users to receive the upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat.
With the release of Android Marshmallow a year ago, Google has been making the battery smarter.
Veteran mobile reporter Evan Blass had tweeted last month about Android Nougat’s release in August.
The update will see the addition of 72 new emojis.

The blog goes on to say the LG V20 will be the first handset to ship with Android N already installed, which is a somewhat odd choice given that its not a Google-produced phone. And for current Nexus users, software updates now install much faster, so you won’t have to wait for minutes while your device reboots.
