Google hasn’t yet indicated when it will launch Android Pay in the UK. There are reports that McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) might be the first major store to implement or try out Android Pay.

Bank of Scotland, TSB, Halifax, Lloyds Bank and M&S Bank will have to wait until later in the autumn to get Apple Pay on their iPhones.
The McDonald’s notice, which was first spotted by Android Police, urges employees to review the training materials to remind themselves of the service procedures, which it describes as “the same as with Apple Pay”.
Even though there hasn’t been any confirmation from Google or even McDonalds for that matter, it’s very likely that Android Pay could go live on the aforementioned date. That isn’t correct, but is the launch date of the new phones that will support it, and so could have been a mistake on McDonald’s part rather than a reason to suggest that the Android launch date will also be wrong.
The firm, which takes cows and chickens and turns them into lunch, breakfast and dinner, is reported to be close to a launch, according to Android Police, which has at least one internal memo from one restaurant that has advised staff on the introduction.

There is now no word about when Google might roll out Android Pay beyond the U.S., if indeed there are such plans. Like Apple Pay, Android Pay will also be available in NFC-enabled smartphones.
