Quarterback AJ McCarron wasn’t able to rally the Cincinnati Bengals to victory after taking over from injured starter Andy Dalton, but the former Alabama All-American will be under center when the Bengals play the San Francisco 49ers next week – and maybe beyond that.
On Pittsburgh’s opening possession, Roethlisberger picked on rookie corner Josh Shaw for a 31-yard completion to wide receiver Markus Wheaton.
The final interception by safety Robert Golden late in the fourth quarter would set the Steelers up for Williams second TD run of the game and a 33-13 lead.
DeAngelo Williams rushed for two touchdowns, Heath Miller had 10 catches while the trio of Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant combined for 18 catches for almost 200 yards to pace an efficient Steelers offense. It’s unclear if he was hurt on that play, but cameras appeared to show his right hand hitting Tuitt’s knee on the tackle.

Boswell kicked another field goal before the break to edge his team nine points ahead, and after the restart William Gay handed the visitors control when he intercepted a pass from McCarron and returned it all the way for a touchdown.
Before Sunday, McCarron’s National Football League regular-season experience consisted of three mop-up appearances in November games.
McCarron finished 22 of 32 for 280 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions that led to Steelers touchdowns.
The Bengals deactivated cornerback Adam Jones, receiver Mario Alford, linebacker P.J. Dawson, offensive tackle Jake Fisher, defensive tackles Marcus Hardison and Brandon Thompson and defensive end Will Clarke. Another 6-6 team with playoff hopes, the Buffalo Bills, suffered a setback when tight end Charles Clay was ruled out for the game after suffering a back injury.
