“Andy Griffith’s advice to Cam Newton” goes viral

Unless you live under a rock, you probably know the Panthers lost Super Bowl 50 and quarterback Cam Newton is catching a lot of flack for his reaction to not winning.

Cam Newton walked out of his post-game interview following the Super Bowl, sparking debate about the quarterback being a sore loser.

“They don’t give you no medal for trying”, Newton says. “You show me a good loser and I’m going to show you a loser”.

“They made more plays than us and that’s what it comes down to”, Newton said Sunday night before walking out of a brief three-minute interview after the game.

“I don’t think it was very nice of you to walk off the way you did”, Sheriff Taylor says.

Especially when a couple of days later his apology included him saying, “I’ve been on record to say I’m a sore loser”. The clip of one of TV’s most beloved characters and the National Football League most celebrated players has gone viral, with almost 5 million views. Now, Andy’s sharing his good advice with an unlikely recipient in a video edited by Gilly Kidd, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, that’s become an instant viral phenom.
