Andy Murray impresses Ivan Lendl with fighting spirit at Queen’s
Murray becomes the first five-time victor at this tournament, overtaking – among others – the man sitting in his opponent’s box: John McEnroe.

John McEnroe believes his relationship with Andy Murray would have been short had the world number two opted for the American as his coach over Ivan Lendl.
However, the world number two managed to fight back by winning four games in a row in the second set as Raonic’s challenge faltered.
Raonic’s first serve subsequently dropped while Murray refound his first delivery and didn’t face a break point in the entire third set. “So there’s time to make things better and there is also time to mess things up”.
The first set was dominated by the serve, with five of the opening seven games being held to love. I’m happy with that. “If at all, I don’t remember him ever doing it, and then he had his best success”.
“That’s a good sign”. “I will start focusing on Wimbledon tomorrow”.
Every part of Murray’s game looks to be in good order.
“It’s not always up to me – Milos serves unbelievably well”. His forehand has been a potent weapon all week, while his clever variations of pace and spin continue to confound opponents.
Murray’s performances this week have steadily improved and, on this form, he goes into Wimbledon as one of the favourites. Mac and Lendl met 36 times as players.
Murray pegged him back to 5-5, but an ill advised approach shot from the Brit left the court open.
In Germany, Florian Mayer beat German compatriot, Alexander Zverev, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the final of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle on Sunday.
The Scot said “a few good returns” turned the match.
It was 21-year-old Keys’ first title of the year and comes a week before the start of Wimbledon. Meanwhile, talking about his win, Murray said, ‘It was great coming out here trying for fifth title. “I mean, why hasn’t [Nick] Kyrgios called me?” he asks rhetorically, referring to the Australian’s on-court meltdowns.
Laura Robson’s participation at Wimbledon could be in doubt after the 22-year-old Briton retired during her qualifying match at the Aegon International in Eastbourne with a thigh problem.
The Wimbledon draw is released on Friday.

Down 7-6 3-0 and faced with a superb performance by Milos Raonic it seemed that his dream of a fifth Aegon Championships title was slipping away.
