Andy Murray wary of Milos Raonic threat in Wimbledon final
“So, yeah, that’s different”, Murray said. That can happen. I was disappointed with how I dealt with things after that. “I know how difficult it is to make the finals of these events and how hard they are to win”. I don’t know if I’d watch that match at Queen’s again but definitely I recall some things. “I showed a lot of emotion out there, always positive, and I think that’s what got me through”.

Learn about two-time Grand Slam victor Andy Murray, reigning Olympic men’s singles gold medalist and current world no. 2. Murray dispatched Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in Friday’s other semi.
Two years ago, Raonic could find no solutions as he was dismantled by Federer at the same stage here, but this was Raonic 2.0 – tougher and stronger. This time, Federer flinched the way he seemingly never used to. But he was broken in that game after another crucial double-fault at deuce. He served two double-faults in a row to set up deuce. “Unexplainable for me really”.
“Very sad about that and angry at myself because never should I allow him to get out of that set that easily”.
The only other Canadian to get this far was Eugenie Bouchard, the women’s runner-up at Wimbledon in 2014.
“It was a good match today”, he said.
“I have a great opportunity on Sunday”.
“I mean, yes, while I’m in the tournament, it’s a dream to win my eighth”, Federer said. In the victory, Raonic won 94 of 113 first serve points and racked up 75 winners and 40 unforced errors. The No. 3-seeded Federer broke serve only once, while Raonic managed three breaks. The 17-time major champion is still tied with Pete Sampras and 1880s player William Renshaw with seven.
She said: “I saw him in the semi-final three years”.
“I hope it’s not so bad”.
“I’m very happy”, he said. “But I don’t slip a lot”.
“He sort of implemented it in the sense of from how he’s seen me play”. I think that’s what made the biggest difference. “I believe I am, but I’ll know more tomorrow when I wake up”.
“Now I have an even bigger toolset to sort of face that challenge”.
“This one clearly hurts because I felt I could have had it. So close”.
He’s also had back issues, missed the French Open to end a 65-appearance streak at majors, and came to Wimbledon without a title in 2016.
“You’re playing who Roger is today”, Raonic said, “not who he’s been the past few years”.
Carlos Moya – one of Raonic’s trio of coaches, including three-time Wimbledon champion John McEnroe – said Federer “kind of opened the door for Milos to have a chance to come back”.
Wimbledon, England-With Novak Djokovic out of the draw Andy Murray has become the consensus favorite at the All England Club. He’s obviously playing the best grass court tennis of his career.
With post-Brexit turmoil engulfing the nation’s political landscape, sterling plummeting and England’s soccer team licking its wounds after a Euro 2016 humiliation, old faithful Murray provided some cheer by reaching a third Wimbledon final on Friday.

Berdych was one of Murray’s most tricky opponents earlier in his career but the Czech had had no success since 2013 against Britain’s leading player, losing their last four encounters. “That was one of the things that was really beneficial for the way we’ve gone about things”, he explained.
