Angel Di Maria closing in on £44.1M Manchester United exit

After Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria was fined by the club two weeks’ wages (£360,000) for missing United’s US tour, it’s been reported that the Argentine would be making his way to French champions Paris Saint Germain.

Van Gaal confessed he did not know the whereabouts of Di Maria in his press conference following United’s 2-0 loss to PSG in their final American tour match on Wednesday night.

Di Maria would make us stronger, for sure”. Van Gaal is angry that Di Maria has “tarnished the club’s reputation” by essentially forcing through a move to Paris Saint-Germain after just one season at Old Trafford.

If it’s proven Di Maria has gone absent without leave, it could be more an indication of his character, not United’s.

“Every single team he plays in, he makes the difference”. Therefore, we could very well see Sergio Romero having his debut against Spurs.

However, van Gaal’s men were undone by two goals from PSG which highlighted the defensive frailty of the squad, even after the arrival of several high-profile signings.

Louis van Gaal had expected the player to meet with the club last weekend, though French football expert Julien Laurens has told talkSPORT that the player is still in Argentina nursing an injury he picked up during their Copa America campaign. I said to him “I’m giving you the number 16 jersey” so he was delighted at that.

“I don’t know”, said Van Gaal, per Cross. That’s also where I have been satisfied.’.

Ibrahimovic and Maxwell, the Brazilian defender, played a brilliant give-and-go for PSG’s second goal in the 34th minute.

Manchester United will reportedly look to spend the £46 million acquired from the sale of Di Maria to land a marquee signing.

“Maybe now, the sequence is a bit different, but I’m not superstitious”. I think it was hard because it was another country and another league, and this league is harder than the Spanish one.
