“I am very proud and I can’t wait to wear the colors of Paris Saint-Germain”, he said.
Former Arsenal striker turned Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry believed Angel Di Maria’s lack of discipline was the reason he didn’t succeed at Manchester United, as per talkSPORT.
“I also know that I want to overcome the obstacle that is the quarter-finals of the Champions League“, he added, with PSG having failed to get past the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition for the last three seasons. I want to win the Champions League again, which is a dream for every footballer.
Paris Saint-Germain have finally completed the signing of Angel Di Maria from Manchester United.
The 27-year-old moved to United for a club record of £59.7m in August 2014 but endured a harrowing first campaign in English football despite leading Real Madrid to Champions League glory during the preview season.
United manager Louis van Gaal, meanwhile, will now look to bolster his squad by signing Barcelona forward Pedro.
PSG lost out to United last season because of Financial Fair Play restrictions that have since been eased.
Later on Thursday evening, the French treble winners will present Di Maria to the media in a central Paris hotel.
“So my (job) is to bring the maximum and bring a little bit more and try to help them progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League – something that Paris haven-t been able to achieve”.
Now, he is in Qatar meeting with the ownership group of Paris Saint-Germain as he finalizes a $68 million move to the reigning French champions to end his Old Trafford nightmare.
The sale of Di Maria, meanwhile, means United’s famous number seven shirt becomes available for the new season.
