Veteran Hollywood actress Angela Lansbury is reportedly the latest name to sign on to Game of Thrones season 7.

Additionally, Oscar-winner actor Jim Broadbent will join the cast in a reported “significant” role.

Most recently, there was an announcement from Extras NI – which provides background people for film, television and adverts in Northern Ireland – looking for toothless men aged between 30 and 60.

Season seven is set to consist of seven episodes instead of the usual 10, with HBO referring to the eighth go-round as the last. Others are suggesting that his character may be a maester who will be interacting with Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West) at the Citadel in Oldtown.

In a series of recent posts, she wrote: “just finished reading season 7 – s*** gets REAL – i’d start preparing yourselves now – scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this – holy BALLS”.

Don’t worry, Maisie. We’re prepped! Just the news that he had been cast in a “mysterious role” had fans in a frenzy to whip up theories as to whom he might be playing. He also won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film “Iris”, back in 2001.

Broadbent has starred in many popular films like Time Bandits, Brazil and Bridget Jones’s Diary including his Emmy-nominated title role on the series Longford and the Harry Potter franchise.

Game of Thrones killed off plenty of characters in season 6, so, despite the abbreviated season 7, there’s definitely some room for new faces.
