Angels trade disappointing OF Daniel Nava to Royals
The Los Angeles Angels have traded outfielder Daniel Nava to the Kansas City Royals.

Nava does not count against the 40 man roster at this time, but he will probably be added when the Royals are able to expand the rosters for September beyond the 25 man. For now, he was assigned to Class AAA Omaha.
The switch-hitting infielder/outfielder has played in 45 games for the Angels this season, hitting.235 with five doubles, a homer and 13 runs batted in. From being told he was not good enough to make the baseball team at Santa Clara University, to becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to hit a grand slam in his first plate appearance, Nava is still hanging around.
Nava, 33, is not now on the Angels 40 man roster and will be assigned to Triple-A Omaha. He cleared outright waivers, which allowed him to be traded after the non-waiver trade deadline.

He hasn’t really been the same since, moving on from Boston to Tampa Bay in 2015 and signing with the Angels in 2016. The Red Sox won the World Series that season, beating the St. Louis Cardinals in six games. He was a significant contributor to Boston’s championship team in 2013, hitting.303/.385/.445 with 12 home runs and 66 RBI in 134 games.
