‘Angry’ Fabricio Coloccini doesn’t care about league position yet
DARYL JANMAAT insists that Newcastle United need to show more of a cutting edge going forward if they are to achieve anything in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle will take on West Ham United at Upton Park tonight.
McClaren was appointed in June on a three-year deal with hopes to improve on Newcastle’s 15th-place finish last season when they narrowly avoided relegation. We know we can do better and we didn’t do it, so it is normal for people to be frustrated.
The Magpies coach has preferred Mitrovic in attack for Newcastle’s last two games against Arsenal and Manchester United but, despite Cisse being previously reported to have been close to leaving St James’ Park, McClaren has insisted the striker is still a key option for him up front.
Coloccini says that the team “can’t afford to have our heads down”, yet in an interview with fellow defender Massadio Haidara yesterday, he said that this was exactly what happened to the players when the Hammers scored their second goal. In some of the earlier games, it felt as though we were making progress, but that was a night when it was hard to be positive about anything.
“We can’t accept the same problems we had last season, and I think all the team are angry now”.
“It’s important we get that first win under the belt and Saturday is the opportunity to do that”.
“It is good that the next game is so quick, because it means we have to forget about it straight away and focus everything on Saturday and Watford”.
These stats are a real worry for Newcastle, who need to ensure they start picking up points more regularly if they are to remain in the Premier League at the end of this campaign.
“We have to win otherwise the pressure will only continue to increase”.

The Netherlands international added: “We have to score more”.
