Angry Luke Shaw wants move from Manchester United

A training ground bust-up with Jose Mourinho looks set to see Luke Shaw leave Manchester United in the summer, according to The Sun.

Following United’s 2-0 win over Brighton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, Mourinho criticised some of his players for being “scared to play” and questioned their “personality, trust and class”. “I think we deserved to win because I think the game was in control for the majority, we scored two and they didn’t score, but we didn’t play as I prepared the team to play”, he told BT Sport. “He (Mourinho) is special because he wants to win always”.

While he could rarely be said to have recovered his form since then, it is unquestionable that if reports of his desire to leave are confirmed, there will be plenty of potential suitors keen to take him off United’s hands.

Do you think a player exodus is needed at Old Trafford? John Percy and Ian Whittell are kind enough to fill us in.

While Arsene Wenger has seemingly allowed the Arsenal clock to stand still at some point in 2004 (when he last lifted the league title), Ferguson, and all of Europe’s elite clubs, have accepted that change is a crucial part of every successful team’s development and evolution.

However, after Shaw “did something new” in Mourinho’s eyes by playing through pain against Anderlecht, foot ligament damage sustained in a home game against Swansea was again treated with a withering tone.

With time, he could lose the dressing room.

THE SUN: Neil Ashton has something of an explanation for Shaw’s under-par performance against Brighton: the two were “involved in an unbelievable training ground bust-up” before the game.

Shaw now “has no chance of repairing his relationship with the manager”.

Real Madrid star Raphael Varane admitted United are hot on his trail and that could mean trouble for the England internationals.

“My calculation is without pressure, they don’t perform well”, he said. Chelsea are mentioned in the headline, but nowhere else in the article, which is strong work.

“If you watch the last three games, we won with a different starting eleven and now today too”, he said.

There is only so much criticism a player can take and while United took the option to extend Shaw’s contract by a year until 2019 in January, it looks as though a parting of the ways in the summer is inevitable.
