Angry Pulis Talks Berahino Omission

Berahino, the subject of a rejected bid from Tottenham earlier this week, did not feature against the Premier League champions at The Hawthorns on Sunday amid talk of an impending exit from West Brom.

Pulis went on to say that people only need to look around football at the moment and see players being left out because of disruptive bids coming in for them, but there’s certainly no problem between him and the player. We want Saido to stay.

The continuing uncertainty has annoyed Pulis, who believes that transfers should not be permitted once the league season starts. Everybody here today should be talking about the game and this wouldn’t be an issue.

‘Saido’s a great lad and it happens where it can be disruptive and it has been disruptive.

“I had a good chat with him yesterday”.

“Lots of people have done that in the past and I just hope he’s not one of them”.

“He’s a young lad and he needs to be protected”. There’s loads of stuff going on in his mind and there are loads of clubs, not one but 15, saying things and doing things.

Pochettino’s limited options were clearly shown against Stoke when, with Spurs leading 2-0, Kane was taken off with a slight calf problem meaning there was nobody to hold the ball up and keep possession.

West Brom have not had the best start to the season, either.

He praised the performance of Pedro Rodriguez who scored the first goal and made the second for Diego Costa.

On his side’s display, the Welshman added: “The goals we’ve conceded have been disappointing”. “We haven’t got that balance right yet between being strong and comfortable defensively, and being able to attack with flair”. We can play in a different system, I think we have players for it. And in different games we can use different set-ups.
