Jodhpur: Bollywood actor Salman Khan was on Monday acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in two cases related to poaching of Chinkaras in Jodhpur in 1998.

The Rajasthan High Court overturned the verdict of two lower courts sentencing Salman to one and five years in prison. There were six reasons the high court acquitted him.
One of the animals were killed at Bhawad on September 26, 1998 and other at Ghoda farm on September 28, 1998, on the outskirts of Jodhpur.
While arguing the case in the high court, Khan’s lawyer had contended that the actor had been falsely framed in these cases, merely on the statements of Dulani, the driver of the vehicle, which was allegedly used in poaching in both these cases. Khedi said that the acquittal will act as a catalyst for poachers as there will be no fear of law in them.
Last year, the Bombay HC acquitted him in the 2002 accident case that killed one man and injured four others on a Mumbai pavement. The actor has even had to spend a week in jail after he was earlier sentenced for a 5 year imprisonment in the same case. But there is a disappointment, especially among wildlife lovers in our community.
“We will study the judgement in detail first and then decide on future course of action”, Rajasthan’s Additional Advocate General, K.L. Thakur, told IANS.
Today, Salman’s sister Alvira Agnihotri was present when the verdict was announced in favour of the superstar. His other sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, hailed the verdict. In the film, Salman plays a wrestler from the Indian state of Haryana whose personal life takes a turn for the worse at the pinnacle of his wrestling career. In which Salman Khan was set free from all the charges. Today is a big day for us.

However, after taking a sigh of relief from the tedious legal battle, Khan thanked his fans and supporters in his tweet, saying: ‘thank u for ur prayers and support’. “This wouldn’t have been possible without you”, Arpita said.
