“I’ve started to work out – I love that feeling, I love feeling strong”, the actress told PEOPLE exclusively at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she was in attendance to support her monster movie Colossal, which also stars Jason Sudeikis and Dan Stevens.

Anne Hathaway insists she’s usually a “very, very bad liar” – except when it came to her pregnancy. “I’m just so proud of what the changes signify”, she says. “The only secret that I kept, and I will tell you I got really good at lying, was when I was pregnant”.

But, according to the 33-year-old actress, her her reason for being so secretive about her pregnancy and her child-to-be is very relatable.

The first-time mum and her husband Adam Shulman welcomed their son Jonathan back in March (16) and the Les Miserables star is beyond happy to report she is now back in the gym again. “Bodies shrink. It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.) Peace xx”, she concluded, adding the hashtags #noshame and #lovewhatyouhavebeengiven.

“I did not feel like, “Oh, I am lying.’ It was like, ‘No, I am protecting”.

During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Hathaway added that since becoming a mom she also has a newfound confidence.

She shared: “I think shape is an ongoing thing in everybody’s life”. Hathaway has been busy traveling the world while promoting Alice Through the Looking Glass as well as filming her latest film Colossal, which critics have described as “insane.” Hathaway made headlines last month after she revealed via Instagram that she’s not stressing about losing her pregnancy pounds.
