The Law Enforcement Torch Run transforms communities by inspiring people to open their minds, to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities and recognizing and respecting the similarities we all share.

This event is a part of the 2016 Law Enforcement Torch Run, which is a multi-day event raises money and awareness about Special Olympics in CT.
The Special Olympics World Games are held every two years. The torch will be lit at the New York State Summer Games opening ceremony Friday at the University of Brockport.

Langley Special Olympics athletes involved in the torch run were Chris Lakusta, Christine Magnusson, Nicole VandeVelde, Joshua Low, Jaykob Low and Andrea Zonneveld.
“I want to thank and congratulate all of our officers who are participating this year, both by running and by supporting the event”, Mayor Marcia A. Leclerc said. From there, they ran with the flame to the Lompoc Police Department building at 100 Civic Center Plaza.
