Anonymity Not An Option For Powerball Winners In Florida
Counting Sunday’s purchases, MI players already have bought almost 3.3 million tickets for Wednesday night’s drawing and a chance to win the world-record $1.4 billion jackpot.

The likelihood of someone winning the estimated $1.5 billion jackpot in the Powerball lottery on Wednesday is very slim.
No one matched all six Powerball numbers Saturday night, leading to the current enormous prize.
But it also increased the odds of getting all the numbers right to 1 in 292 million.
It started out at $40 million on November 4 and is played twice a week.
Between Jan. 6 and Saturday’s drawings, more than $900 million in Powerball tickets were sold. Because the payout is based on sales, the prize has grown more quickly as people rush to buy tickets. In addition to NY, 43 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, participate in the game.
The Texas Lottery Commission said they are seeing more participation from people across the state than ever more, many of that is from office pools.
Walsh said that he does not know the identity of the victor, and may not know immediately since Maryland rules dictate that the victor has to claim the prize at the state’s lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The Powerball that gives the lottery its name is the one that makes it so hard to win the big jackpot.
North Carolina Lottery Officials are aware of the problem, but have no plans to change the billboards unless billion-dollar jackpots become commonplace. About 95 percent of Powerball tickets have computer-generated numbers.

The drawing for $1.5 billion will take place on Wednesday at 10:12 p.m., and sales will be cut off at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Only two states, IL and Georgia, sell Powerball tickets online, according to Forbes.
