Another assault on prison staff by Nebraska inmate reported
A week after Tecumseh State Correctional Institution was locked down because of threats against employees there, an inmate sent three staff members to Johnson County Hospital with minor injuries, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. As of Thursday morning, at least three of the dorms are back in control of the prison officers.

Florida prisons are dangerously understaffed, and numerous state’s 100,000 inmates are forced to remain in restricted areas -with no outdoor recreation – because there is not enough staff to supervise them outdoors. She said the agency has been reaching out to other police and sheriff’s departments to be on alert because of tensions that have been building across the state over inmate abuse, poor medical care and a surge in violent gang activity.
There have been news reports that prisoners across the country are planning protests to mark the 45th anniversary of the Attica prison riot.
Ruiz said organizers emphasized that the protests would be nonviolent. While officers were armed, no shots were fired.
It took until 4 a.m.to bring the compound under control, he said.
It was unclear what caused the riot, how long it lasted and how much damage occurred.
