Another child dies of dengue, as hospitals turn him away
“I held a meeting with the Delhi Health Minister and asked him to take strict action against hospitals refusing dengue patients”.

Two more patients have died of dengue and more than 600 fresh cases have been reported in the capital in the last one week taking the total to 1,872 this year. “Admission of patients to hospital should be left to doctors”, Jain said.
Police said the couple – identified as Lakshman Chandra Raut, 35, and Babita Raut, 30 – jumped from their rented accommodation in Lado Sarai area of south Delhi on Wednesday around 12.15 a.m.
Aman was finally admitted to Holy Family Hospital, where he died on Sunday evening. The number was reportedly higher only in 2010 when 1,512 cases were recorded in Delhi.
“We do not deny that they are two patients on one bed but hospital staff are working hard”. Congress leader Anand Sharma said that just by calling special session, the solution to this dengue menace won’t get solved.
A helpline number, 23307145, has also been launched by Satyendra Jain, the Health minister, who insisted that the panic of dengue needs to be kept tapered.
Officials said the government yesterday directed its hospitals to cancel leave of all doctors, nurses and para-medics in view of the situation.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the hospitals which turned away the boys had obviously put profitability above humanity and would not be spared.
The inquiry will also cover the responsibility of hospitals, particularly those concerned with admissions and treatment.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda on Tuesday directed all hospitals under the central government that no suspected dengue patient should be denied treatment and the bed strength, if needed, should be increased to accommodate all such patients.
The cabinet also reviewed the dengue situation and decided to intensify the awareness campaign to prevent any panic, which is leading to a rush at hospitals.

Jain directed the district magistrates to ensure complaints of lack of fumigation in residential areas and market places are immediately addressed. There have been 110 cases of confirmed dengue from this part.
