Another Day of Protests over Chicago Shooting
This is the main impetus for city protesters to believe the murder of McDonald was a cover-up to give Emanuel a better chance in the first runoff election in Chicago history.

The Chicago police officer charged with murder after he was captured on squad auto video shooting a teenager 16 times has posted bond. The video released showed McDonald walking away from police in the middle of the street. And for more than an hour, religious leaders spoke to the crowd.
On the same day of the video’s release, Van Dyke, 37, was charged with first-degree murder.
McDonald was shot 16 times by the officer. Alvarez should have moved faster, not waiting on the feds.
The fact that the Black Friday protests were peaceful added another positive aspect to the event we believe has led the media and others to portray this protest positively.
Emanuel says McDonald’s death “requires more than just words”. There were also protests in other major cities across the United States. The final amount was $5 million. On the same day, officials released the footage- which the authorities had long wanted to suppress – in response to a court order. “Real dedication amidst a real crisis”, Brooks said in a tweet after his release.
The incident was first investigated by IPRA, an independent organization that reviews allegations against the Chicago Police Department. “Prosecutors sought to have the veteran officer held without bail until his trial”.
Kalven’s institute worked seven years to open up police files and establish an online database of misconduct complaints against police officers – 97 percent of which resulted in absolutely no disciplinary action. Van Dyke shot the teenager 16 times. I offer no apologies for enlisting the FBI to investigate Laquan’s murder because obviously the Chicago Police Department could not investigate themselves in this case.
Further fueling our conviction that the Chicago Police Department under McCarthy has a bad habit of letting police misconduct slide is the example of Constantine G. He appeared in court Monday morning.
McCarthy not only has never lifted a finger to discipline Andrews.

A small group of protesters in the courtroom stood silently while Judge Donald Panarese Jr. watched the video on laptop computer, then cried out after he announced his decision, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
