Another Olympics medal for India?
Yogeshwar Dutt had won a bronze in men’s 60 kg freestyle wrestling at the London Games. “I dedicate this medal to my countrymen”, is the English rendering of what Yogeshawar wrote in Hindi.

Though, the London Olympics 2012 silver medalist, Russian Besik Kudukhov’s failure in dope tests mean that Dutt’s bronze medal gets upgraded to a silver.
The World Anti Doping Agency has been getting several samples from both the Beijing (2008) and the London (2012) Olympics retested in recent times, and many medallists have been stripped of their medals after being found guilty.
With this, Yogeshwar Dutt, who had won the bronze award in men’s 60kg free-form class in the 2012 summer Olympics, may now be moved up to a silver decoration. Besik Kudukhov is a four-time world champion and two-time Olympic medal victor.
“The samples of Besik Kudukhov have tested positive for banned substances”.
The official confirmation will have to come from the United World Wrestling (UWW) and the International Olympic Committee.
Besik Kudukhov शानदार पहलवान थे। उनका मृत्यु के पश्चात dope test में fail हो जाना दुखद हैं। मैं खिलाड़ी के रूप में उनका सम्मान करता हूँ।. Taymazon is a gold medal victor and Kudukhov silver medalist. Olympics comes every four years and its bit odd to get a silver medal this way.

Despite his lost to the Russian, Yogeshwar charged through the repechage rounds defeating defeating Puerto Rico’s Franklin Gomez, Iran’s Masoud Esmaeilpour and North Korea’s Ri Jong Myong to win bronze. Bronze upgraded to silver is destiny, but I won’t allow myself to forget Rio debacle.
