Another Singer From ‘The Voice’ Has Been Shot And Killed

CHICAGO, Il. (CNN) – Singer Alejandro Fuentes-Rosas, who appeared on Mexico’s “The Voice”, has died after he was shot in Chicago.

The Associated Press reports Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes was ambushed while celebrating his 45th birthday with a group of friends outside of his Tras Bambalinas School in the city’s southwest side in Brighton Park.

Alejandro Fuentes, a singer from the Mexican version of The Voice, has passed away.

Fuentes’ death comes almost a week after the murder of Voice contestant Christina Grimmie. México”-Mexico’s version of “The Voice”. Ms Grimmie was fatally shot while signing autographs at a concert venue in Orlando on Friday 12 June. The Chicago Tribune reports that Fuentes was out celebrating his birthday with friends on Thursday when someone walked up to his auto, showed their gun and instructed him to get out of his vehicle. The man then killed himself.

Police are still investigating and say nothing is being ruled out.

The attack happened less than a week after the killing of Christina Grimmie, who appeared on the United States version of the show.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Fuentes had just celebrated his 45th birthday with friends when he went back to his vehicle on the 4300 block of South Archer Avenue.
