Another Tech Company Joins Federal Bureau of Investigation Clinton Email Probe

It comes as a probe was launched into the private technology company by investigators already attempting to recover emails apparently deleted by Clinton with another firm.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton’s controversial private email server, which she used during her tenure as secretary of State, was the target of cyberattacks from around the globe and was inadequately protected against such attacks, according to media reports published Wednesday.

He didn’t explain why the Clinton team asked for limits on data backups.

Platte River employed Datto Inc in case its own primary server failed and so they acted as a secondary back-up. Representatives from Datto were anxious that Clinton’s server would be targeted once it became infamous over the summer.

In a letter made public in a court filing Tuesday, Under Secretary Patrick F. Kennedy asks Clinton’s personal lawyer to once again affirm that all federal records in her possession have been provided to the agency.

It was not immediately clear whether the attempted intrusions into Clinton’s server were serious espionage threats or nuisance attacks.

Farrell said in an interview that the department also has been unwilling to say whether the private email system, used by Clinton and close aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills, should be considered an official State Department network covered by FOIA laws.

The committee is demanding the documentation of SECNAP’s work on Clinton’s server – particularly information about the type of cyber threats detected.

The moment Denver’s Platte River Networks realized that e-mails of its most famous client were being uploaded into the cloud, 26 months had passed since signing on Hillary Clinton and her family. Critics have said using a private server potentially compromised classified information. Clinton has said she deleted what she considered personal messages before giving the State Department communications related to her stint as Secretary of State.

The attacks Johnson mentions in his letter are different, according to government officials familiar with them.

The feds may have more luck with State Department servers.

“This whole thing really is covering up a few shaddy s–“, the email, obtained by Senate Homeland Security Committee chairman Sen.

When Datto acknowledged the issue via email, a Platte River employee replied: “this is a problem”.

The AP reported last month that Russia-linked hackers sent Clinton emails in 2011 – when she was still secretary of state – loaded with malware that could have exposed her computer if she opened the attachments.

Boian, the Platte River spokesman, said he had no idea what the cover up conversation referred to, but he said, “I can tell you emphatically that Platte River Networks does not believe that any cover up has occurred”.
