Ansel Elgort in Talks In Talks For Live Action Dungeons & Dragons Film
The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent actor Ansel Elgort is officially in negotiations to play the lead in the newest upcoming film adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons.

Elgort, of course, was on the shortlist to play Han Solo in his forthcoming Star Wars standalone film.
In April, it was announced that Goosebumps and Monsters vs. Aliens director Rob Letterman was attached to helm the film, which will be the latest in a series of attempts to adapt the game for the screen. Letterman is also now developing a sequel to Goosebumps. If the popularity of his demonic nun character, Valak, is any indication, he’ll be even more in demand after resuscitating one of the most promising yet abused cinematic properties in pop culture today. Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis will produce, along with Courtney Solomon and Allan Zeman of Sweetpea Entertainment.
Hasbro owns the company that first published the Dungeons & Dragons game in 1974.
We’re told Dungeons & Dragons, directed by Goosebumps helmer Rob Letterman, is a top priority for Warner Bros., now on the hunt for new franchises to give the studio a much-needed shot in the arm.
Last August, all interested parties came to an undisclosed settlement, after which point Warner Bros. started developing the film.

We do know that David Leslie Johnson has penned the screenplay for the new movie, and that Elgort is set to be seen in Edgar Wright’s next feature, Baby Driver, which is due out next year.
