Ant-Man 2 director announced
It might seem like a shock that Ant-Man is even getting a sequel, but the film is popular enough in the States and proved to be a massive success overseas.

Ant-Man recently opened in China to a stellar $43.2 million, rounding up the Marvel movie’s worldwide total to $454.7 million.
The July 6, 2018-release, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in the titles roles, is still without a writer, though. That’s not entirely a surprise, given Reed’s enthusiasm for the source material and the immensely positive reactions Ant-Man received.
Aside from Marvel’s “Ant-Man”, Reed also directed the comedy romance film “Yes Man” and “The Break-Up” and the sports comedy film “Bring It On”.
Like Gunn and the Russos, Reed was best known for making lighter, low-budget comedic films before joining Marvel, like Bring It On and Yes Man. Thanks to Reed, who replaced Wright, for his passion and knowledge about Ant-Man and Marvel comics; the film got back on track. There is no word yet on whether original writers Rudd and Adam McKay will be the ones to write his newest script, though. The movie is planned for release on July 6, 2018, and now Black Panther has been moved to February 16, 2018. And now we learn that Peyton Reed has entered negotiations to direct the movie.
Prior to the sequel, Rudd’s Ant-Man will be seen in next year’s “Captain America: Civil War”. What followed was a crisis involving tons of negative buzz and disappointed fans, as Wright was revered by many and had been working on the project with Marvel for years.

While the first film earned positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, its $178 million gross in USA theaters put it near the bottom of the Marvel cinematic universe from a box-office standpoint and initially made a sequel uncertain.
