Anthony Anderson and his wife, Alvina, have split after 20 years of marriage. The couple also has a 19-year-old daughter named Kyra. She filed court docs on Friday, stating irreconcilable differences as the cause.

No laughing matter. Black-ish star Anthony Anderson is coming to the end of his 20-year marriage to his high school sweetheart, Alvina. Anderson will receive more than “reasonable visitation”. The divorce explains why Anthony was not joined by his wife in the recent Emmys Primetime 2015.
Alvina did not accompany the Black-ish star to the 2015 Emmy Awards, where he was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy. The couple was last seen together publicly at the NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California in February 2014. “Son @not_nathaniel and I at the #Emmys”. And ironically, just days before the divorce news went viral, he posted a message on Instagram that said in part, “I love my family, I love my job, I love my life”.

Meanwhile, “Black-ish” Season 2 premiered on Wednesday, September 23 on ABC.
