“It’s not the loss that matters the most, but how it happened and the approach that we had”, Gentry said. “It’s one game, so I don’t think you can take too much from it, but it’s definitely a confidence booster for us as a team”.

Combo guard Tyreke Evans is nearing a return for the Pelicans after undergoing preseason knee surgery. Other notable players such as Quincy Pondexter, Omer Asik and Norris Cole have all been in and out of the lineup. Starting guards Jrue Holliday and Eric Gordon are now averaging 31 points a game so they will definitely need to step it up with the additional shots that Davis is leaving behind.
