Anthony Davis ‘completely devastated’ by death of Monty Williams’ wife

The wife of Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams has died in a hospital from injuries she suffered in a auto crash, police said.

Oklahoma Thunder asst. coach Monty Williams’ wife, Ingrid Williams, second from right, died Wednesday evening, February 10, 2016, when an oncoming auto crossed the center line.

Monty, also an assistant coach for USA Basketball, is one of the most well-liked and respected men in the NBA.

Monty Williams was the head coach of the New Orleans Hornets, and later the Pelicans, from 2010-15.

The driver of the other vehicle, 55-year-old Susannah Donaldson, and her dog, who was sitting on her lap, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The Thunder play New Orleans tonight. “I don’t know if you guys heard, Monty Williams, a good friend of mine, his wife was killed in an accident”.

‘Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty and his family, and we will support him in every way possible.

He took to Twitter to pay tribute, writing: ‘Completely devastated.

Monty Williams was the 24th pick in the 1994 NBA Draft.
