In 66 games with New Orleans last season (27 starts), Cunningham averaged 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds.

New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry sees an area where franchise cornerstone Anthony Davishas much potential for growth: 3-point shooting. The thought of him adding a consistent three-point shot is absolutely terrifying, but considering his talent level, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see him pull it off. The contract is reportedly worth $145 million. Obviously, it shouldn’t fall all on his shoulders, but if there’s room for improvement, Davis is going to try and cover it as quickly as possible, and do the most he can to help turn the Pelicans into a more serious threat in the West.
“I am very excited to continue to play for the Pelicans and remain a proud resident of New Orleans, ” said Davis, who is on tour this week in Hong Kong and China working with youth camps and other events.
Demps and Gentry both made the trip to Los Angeles to extend Davis their extension offer last week. 516 shooting from the floor, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

Davis is already one of the best in the National Basteball Association, ranked first in the league in blocks (averaging 2.94 per game), fourth in scoring (24.4), seventh in field-goal percentage (53.5) and eighth in rebounding (10.2). I think what people don’t realize about him is as great a basketball player he is, he’s even a better person. As head coach of the Suns in 2010, he got Channing Frye to launch 392 three-pointers, after he had made just 20 in total during his first four National Basteball Association seasons. With the off-season coming to an end with how it appears Gentry wants his team lining up to look like we may be end up seeing Asik lining up in another jersey at the start of next season.
