The NBA’s concussion protocol lays out a detailed map of what a player must be able do to return to action which includes a stationary bike, jogging, agility work and non-contact drills.

With the Pelicans leading 58-56 in the final minutes of the first half, Davis went up for a rebound and collided with teammate Tyreke Evans and fell to the floor, dropping the ball.

Davis is doubtful to return to Monday’s matchup with the Rockets after suffering a head injury, Jennifer Hale of Fox Sports reports. It is unknown how much time he will miss at this time.

It’s been a year to forget for Davis and the Pelicans, who are in 12th place in the Western Conference at 16-27 despite their superstar Davis averaging 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game heading into Monday night.

In 19 minutes, Davis scored nine points and had six rebounds before leaving the game. They’re already a long shot to make the playoffs out West, but Davis’ injury is a huge setback.
