Anti-abortion group releases third Planned Parenthood video

“At an anti-abortion rally Tuesday protesting Planned Parenthood, Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson compared abortion to slavery, suggesting that the country’s abolition of slavery signaled its capacity for ending abortion“.

Rand Paul (R) drafted the legislation following the release of videos showing a conversation between Planned Parenthood officials about the use of fetal tissue for medical research.

The video also includes an interview with a phlebotomist, a person who draws blood for clinical testing, who worked for a company that procured fetal tissues from Planned Parenthood.

The video accuses Planned Parenthood of selling body parts after abortions.

Fitzenhagen’s office tells us that she and other legislators are drafting a letter calling on FDLE to investigate Planned Parenthood.

“I was only shocked at the fact that the pro-life side got a video, but I wasn’t really shocked because I knew this was going on”, said Julie Rosati of Care Net Pregnancy Center of CNY.

Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report says it performs about 4.5 million tests and treatments for sexually transmitted diseases yearly, provides 3.6 million contraceptive devices and procedures and hundreds of thousands of cancer screens.

The protest is scheduled for noon at the Planned Parenthood building on Poplar Avenue.

The president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America says it is simply not true that the organization profits from that, and said so on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos“.

At the rally, dozens of people gathered Tuesday afternoon on University Avenue.

Johnson plans to testify on Wednesday in front of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee to discuss her firsthand experience with Planned Parenthood and fetal tissue donations. Planned Parenthood affiliates in Missouri follow all laws and have the highest medical and ethical standards.

Richards said fetal organ donation takes place in a handful of states and that the tissue goes toward medical research. STD testing and contraception take up the majority of the group’s budget.

Demonstrations like this were held across the country.
