Antonio Brown’s Consistency On Display Early And Often

The Steelers defensive backs are young and may be good someday.

Which should only ramp up the next Sunday when Pittsburgh hosts Cincinnati in their first meeting since a memorably contentious victory by the Steelers in the wild-card round last January.

After winning the NFC East last season despite never beating a team with a winning record, the Redskins opened this season with a dismal 38-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.

The Steelers picked up where they left off in the 2015 regular season: With 30-plus points.

The answer is “everything” and there’s a reason why he’s considered the best receiver in the National Football League and easily the top pick in every single fantasy draft this season. Sure, he’s always put up numbers and won games, but lately, he’s just playing at a different level. “That’s why we’re completely confident in his ability to deliver during the time that (RB Le’Veon) Bell is out (while serving a three-game suspension)”. Brown scored two touchdowns, and celebrated the way Brown only does: by dancing.

Monday night’s game in Washington was billed as a matchup of a star receiver, Antonio Brown, with a star cornerback, Josh Norman. Washington failed to stretch the field offensively, with DeSean Jackson’s 33-yard reception the Redskins’ only play of more than 20 yards all evening. The turnover served as the beginning of the blowout, leading to Brown’s second touchdown catch to pad a 24-6 lead. Roethlisberger went his way a lot, and Brown feasted.

“The offensive line does a great job of opening holes”, Williams said. Rogers caught six passes from Roethlisberger, accumulating 59 yards. The way the players took advantage, took part in it.

While Pittsburgh’s passing attack clicked early, Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins struggled to connect with his receivers in the red zone, frequently throwing low balls throughout the first half. “And of course, business was boomin” for wide receiver Antonio Brown, who hauled in eight catches for 126 yards. He forced a fumble that was recovered by Washington, only to come back and intercept Cousins on the very next play. If he’s healthy for 16 games he can make a run into the DPOY conversation. It may be much ado about nothing, but it’s interesting and is something to follow. On that note, Washington will reportedly bring back some reinforcement for their defensive line. He was credited with four tackles, and he had some excellent coverage downfield.

Roethlisberger ran the no-huddle offense nearly exclusively the entire game.

The Redskins drove into Steelers territory again, but on fourth-and-6, Cousins’ pass to Thompson was only good for 5 yards. With Shazier potentially out, it’s imperative to get more from Jones.

Pretty impressive for a Monday night.

Steelers Wire’s Curt Popejoy cites a tweet by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that the move to take Shazier out of the game for the fourth quarter was precautionary, that there was no structural damage to his knee and everything is all good.
