Antonio Conte Admits the League Title Race Has Gotten Interesting

Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table is now seven points, but Conte remains upbeat despite the shock loss at home to Palace.

You look at Swansea, that was the game they had to win, to put a bit of distance between them and the bottom three with Spurs at home coming up. It continued the 24-year-old’s fine run of form that has caught the attention of some of the country’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City understood to have expressed an interest in signing him in recent weeks.

Simon Jordan has claimed that Wilfried Zaha is deserving of a new contract with Crystal Palace despite being reportedly targeted by Tottenham. “It’s four wins in a row, so we can be happy, but we have to keep going, because there’s still a long way to go”. For sure there was something, but I think it’s right also to accept the decision of the referee.

‘But Tottenham needs to be around the corner for that.

And although the Blues threw everything at the Eagles backline, goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey stood firm to help secure Allardyce’s side a fourth straight league win, in turn condemning Conte’s men to just their fourth league loss of the campaign.

The euphoria of Chelsea’s early goal perhaps played a part as a usually well organized defense was suddenly torn apart by a brace of counter-attack goals. I was really disappointed in Sunderland on Saturday, it was a game they really had to win.

And Chelsea’s defence, which went six consecutive league games without conceding a single goal between October and November, has now failed to keep a clean sheet in seven. I think they showed they were a good team.

“We dominated the game against a very strong team with good players”. They need 21 points (7 wins) to mathematically clinch the title.

It appears they have cause to be concerned, as the Ivory Coast worldwide is being by a host of top four teams, following his impressive season of six goals and seven assists in the league. I’ve got to say yes to that, haven’t I?

“We know there are many teams that want to win the league, but it’s normal this”.

“This league was not finished before Saturday’s game and it is not finished now”.

Allardyce – who also challenged Zaha to aspire to the level of Hazard – added: “It’s an absolutely outstanding victory for us, particularly in the position we’re in”. To prepare in the right way every single game. But if I was betting man, with the odds as they are, I’d be more inclined to take a punt on Tottenham.
