Antonio Conte: Chelsea need to combat Manchester City with tactical plan

A crushing 3-0 loss against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday intensified the criticism directed at Wenger and his players following their limp defeat in the League Cup final at the hands of the same opponents four days previously.

The embarrassment was a double dose of disgrace for Arsenal, which lost to City 3-0 in the League Cup final on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Barkley, signed from Everton during the January transfer window, had hamstring surgery past year and had not played this season prior to his move to west London. “I have experienced these situations before and know what it takes”.

The 28-year-old didn’t win any major trophies at Dortmund given Bayern Munich’s dominance domestically.

But I can’t see it.

“But at the moment we’re going through a bad stage of trying to stay in touch with the top guys – we’re nowhere near it”.

“This must be a great frustration for me, for my players, for my club”. He was irked by the questions posed to him by the media in his post-match press conference.

City have a fitness doubt over Kyle Walker after the England right-back limped off on Thursday with a calf problem.

Brighton, unbeaten in all competitions home or away since January 20, are next up and Wenger – who conceded after the latest defeat to City that confidence was low – knows the poor away record needs addressing. He is clearly not succeeding in energizing his players, or even getting anything near their best out of them. Arsene’s in charge, he runs it from top to bottom.

The visitors picked up from where they left off on Sunday and took the lead in the 15th minute through Bernardo Silva, who cut inside and sent a sumptuous curling shot past Petr Cech. They’re hanging their manager out to dry.

They sit sixth in the league at the moment, which is no achievement to be proud of for a club like Arsenal.

I feel Arsenal have gone. “I think Conte has given something to English football, I am pretty sure of that”.

And, according to The Guardian, an unnamed Arsenal star was close to tears as he delivered an impassioned speech which he was unable to finish.

“[I have] experience and desire to change things and to continue to help the team”.

City have already claimed one trophy this season
