Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a number of other different leaders would additionally attend Kalam’s final rites on Thursday.
“Public can pay their homage till 8 p.m. after which the body will be taken to his house on Mosque Street”, he said.
“His demise has resulted in an irreplaceable loss to the country and the world”, he added, pointing out that the “wings of fire” spread by Dr Kalam will keep inspiring Indians.
Considered one of the most popular presidents of India, Dr. Kalam became the 11th head of the state and occupied the post between 2002 and 2007 during the NDA government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In a condolence message, the Governor described Dr Kalam as an illustrious and visionary President of India who guided millions of children to follow the path of the finest leaders of the Country. The actor said that he should have made the effort of meeting Dr Kalam and he feels that it is entirely his loss. “He was unencumbered by ego; flattery left him cold”, Modi said.

He wrote in twitter “I did not have the privilege of seeing our mahatma Gandhiji, Kamaraj or Barathiyaar but was blessed enough to live admist mahatma Kalamji”. She also announced that the government had allotted land for burying Kalam’s mortal remains at the request of his family. This distinguishes Dr. Kalam from other presidents of India. “After the meeting with President Abdul Kalam, both Guru’s wife and mother met and gave him the details, as to how they were given a patient hearing”. “However, after my wife, Tabassum, my mother, Ayesha Begum and son Ghalib, told me how graciously you had received them I was really moved and it kindled a new hope that I may still get justice”. He certainly did. It was the role he will probably be most remembered for – a president who brought Rashtrapati Bhavan to the people earning him the tribute of the People’s President.
