His killer, Mark David Chapman, is still behind bars.

“A neighbour said she heard Yoko scream: ‘Help me, ‘ and saw Lennon through the front gate. I am sorry for being such an idiot and choose the wrong way for glory”.

Meanwhile, the “Basic Instinct” star – who has 35-year-old son Cameron with ex-wife Diandra and teenagers Dylan, 15, and Carys, 13, with spouse Catherine Zeta-Jones – isn’t anxious about getting older because technology and society have changed so much, it’s an “exciting” time. He said he had no doubt that Lennon was “dead at the moment the first shots entered his body”.

Lennon collapsed on the stairs of the building, apparently exclaiming “I’m shot” a few times before falling. It is across the street from Central Park.

While Lennon was bleeding out, Chapman calmly stayed at the scene to wait for police to arrest him.

John Lennon, one of the four Beatles, was shot and killed last night while entering the apartment building where he lived, the Dakota, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The suspect was identified as Mark David Chapman, 25, of Hawaii, who had been living in NY for about a week, according to James L. Sullivan, chief of detectives of the 20th Precinct.

“Former Beatle John Lennon was shot dead by a gunman today at the apartment block in NY where he lived nearly as a recluse”.

“Obviously the man was waiting for him”, Sergeant Barnes said of the assailant. “Lennon arrived in the company of his wife and the assailant fired”.

“Record shops in Newcastle were expecting a big increase in sales of Lennon’s records _ both as a solo performer and with The Beatles. I pray every time and continue to work with all the organizations, not to take away their guns, just to do simple things”.

A variety of extremely talented performers such as Sheryl Crow, Chris Stapleton, Steven Tyler, The Roots, Spoon, etc, stole the hearts of the audience that night by performing hits that Lennon originally wrote like “Hey Bulldog”, “Mother”, “Come Together”, and more.
