Hundreds of mourners on Wednesday attended the funerals for three officers slain in last week’s shooting in Dallas. The two other services are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
A funeral service for Thompson was scheduled for later Wednesday in Corsicana, south of Dallas. “You know your hate made us stronger”, she said, speaking of Johnson.
Snyder will be joined by officers from Madison and West Haven, as well as officers from Middletown who left for Dallas Wednesday morning. After joining the Dallas police force in 1989, he received a “Cops’ Cop” award from the Dallas Police Association for his service.
Ahrens was known as a gentle giant and a voracious reader whose intelligence was equal to his size.
A public service for the former Army ranger is scheduled for Thursday at a Dallas church, where he worked security.
Fellow cops told mourners Ahrens could rip the metal bars off a “dope house” in Dallas’s roughest neighborhoods with his bare hands, yet could also get so caught up watching cartoons with his two kids that they’d be late for school.

The funeral services for police officers Michael Krol will be held Friday.
