APNewsBreak: Suge Knight sues Chris Brown over club shooting

Marion “Suge” Knight sued singer Chris Brown and the owners of a nightclub Monday over an incident at a 2014 party hosted by Brown and singer Pia Mia Perez in which the former rap mogul says he was shot numerous times and wounded.

Embattled pop star Chris Brown is facing another lawsuit.

A representative for Brown could not be immediately reached.

Knight survived gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm.

And on Monday (27Jun16), Knight filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court against Brown and bosses of 1OAK, accusing them of failing to hire adequate security for the bash and allowing at least one armed person to enter the venue.

The suit contends Brown has a history of hosting events where violence has broken out. The Death Row Records co-founder has cited complications from those injuries, including a blood clot, in court appearances on an unrelated murder charge.

The lawsuit asks that the defendants cover medical costs for past and future expenses of Knight’s injuries from the 2014 shooting, without naming a specific amount.

According to Variety, the documents include claims from Knight that both the club and the rapper should have had better security on the night in question back in August 2014. Brown has completed probation for his 2009 assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Knight, who has been convicted on felony counts twice, was also shot at a party thrown by Kanye West in Miami beach in 2005. He claimed a year ago that he didn’t intend to hit either with his auto and was trying to drive away because both men had guns.

Months later, Knight was charged with running over two men with his pickup truck outside a Compton burger stand, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
